I bought a mildly smushed 4* 120 and am looking for opinions on what engine I should send it back into the air with. I would like to have a powerful, fuel efficient unit...probably 4 stroke.
Anxious for comments.

Hello; One flellow at our field has a 4 star 120, he had a new Saito 120 in it recently, but it started making a noise, so He put a Saito 150 in it while the 120 is away getting fixed. He had a super tiger 90 in it before that, but we were never able to get that engine working just right, and he was never happy with that engine. He was happy with the 120 before it started making that noise, but now that the 150 is in there, I don't think he would go back. We fly at sea level, and the four star will hover with the 150.

[8D]One of the problems that John Sandy had was that the 4Star pilot was actually a tanker driver....so I am going to modify the beast and make it into a trainer....double the canopy and add another "qualified" pilot.
I think I will go for a 120 or 140 4 stroke in the engine compartment.
He dumped it at the Malmstrom AFB Open House last month....did not hurt it too bad.

I know your looking for a 4 banger.. But the Supertigre 1.40 2 Stroke should be great in this plane! On my Ultra Stick lite I get about 18 minute flights on 14 oz. with fuel to spare! Only $149 at www.towerhobbies.com

One of the best flyers that I have seen in the 4 star 120 line is my buddy Georges. Supertigre 2500 with tuned pipe. You gotta see it to believe it.
