Want to add flaps?
I wanted to add flaps to my SS60 i'm building to play around with. I want to split the strip ailerons and was wondering what size the flaps should be?

RE: Want to add flaps?
I do plan to use seperate servos for each control surface and a programmable Tx, however even with the OS 91 i don't think it will hover.

RE: Want to add flaps?
Sounds like a cool modification to the SS-60. Another thing that I wish I'd tried with mine is retracts. It would really give the plane a clean look in the air. There is plenty of room in the wing to do it.
Definitely not a hovering type of plane. It excells at more "traditional" aerobatics and things like high speed passes which look especially cool inverted.

RE: Want to add flaps?
Would there be any problems extending the flaps maybe say 1/2" longer in cord than the ailerons, to give it alittle extra surface area?

RE: Want to add flaps?
I know it sounds hard to believe, but having the inboard 1/3 of a strip aileron will give you more flap than you will need for the GP SS. I use this system on my Ultra Sports and if I drop them too much, I can't get the plane to come down even at full idle.
It's almost comical how slowly the plane will fly with full flaps.
