Default Lightweight retracts...

Hello everyone,

This is my first thread! I've read thousands of posts, even replied to a couple. But anyway...

I am starting to build an ultra sport 40, first real balsa build. I've built some foamies and a mud duck and I'm no stranger to woodworking. After reading alot on here about the plane and a particular thread about a "lite" version I have decided to somewhat bash a little

One thing I'd really like to include is retracts, I've never owned or flown a plane with retracts before. I'm doing everything I can to keep this ship as light as possible; carbon fiber rods, titanium ends, swaping regular grade balsa for contest blah blah blah.

I know nothing about retracts!!!! I know I need 'em light

thanks,
-rob-

Hi Rob, I built the Ultra Sport "Lite" and to be quite honest, that plane flies better with a little weight behind it.

If my memory serves my correctly, that was your thread! What do you mean by a little? I plan on powering it with an os .55.

A little as in, don't do anything to lighten it. In fact, I have built several and the best so far were the ones where I not only dodn't lighten anything, but I also fully sheeted the wings
