Several of the forums I go to have a feature that allows you to go to the first unread post in a thread. If you are following a thread and it is several pages long and you have been away for a bit, clicking on the "First unread post" button takes you directly to that post. This way you don't have to scroll through all the posts you've already read to find your new starting point. It saves a bunch of time and makes browsing much more enjoyable.
