i cant find this in the faq or when searching the forums - what is the point of the score next to members names?

I was wondering the same thing...

On the top right hand side of your own thread there is a box to rate this thread.......someone else can rate it and it gives you a score......look under my name and I asked this question and was told thereis a scoring system that is meaning less but could be useful if properly rated and not abused. you can score anywhere from a -2 to a positive +2 and the points add up.
