To use the word "most" is a gross exageration of the numer of posts that have been deleted. Sure, a few posts have been deleted. The ones that I have seen failed to meet two of the requests of the Admins. One request was that criticism be kept constructive and the other was that suggestions, comments, criticisms, and requests be posted in the Suggestion forum or sent directly to the Admins.
To post a thread along the lines of "RCU Sux" is not constructive and according to the content of the posts that I saw that fell in this category, they were not intended to be constructive. They seemed to be intentionally destructive although I will not pretend to know the mind of the posters.
The administrators have tentatively decided to leave the posts that have constructive content even though they may not be very flattering as long as they meet the other guidelines of RCU. Marc, Michael, and the others are working feverishly to correct the problems, restore the functions associated with RCU/RCA, and to add other functions as time allows. A common expression where I used to work was, "When you are up to your a** in alligators, it is too early to worry about draining the swamp." I am sure that is the way the administrators feel right now.

Sorry, I guess my question was a little confusing. I should have asked why some posts in the suggestion forum were being deleted. Either way you answered my question and I thank you for your time.
The only thing I miss is the new post in bold feature which is in progress according to the top of the forum page.
Thanks, Chris

Howard,
I find it interesting that only the negitive "off topic" post where deleted. According to the forum rules the "pat on the back" post should be deleted also. Right?
And yes mine was one of the ones deleted and it was a suggestion. Thanks for deleting it. If RCU going to fall back on the forum rules they should be consistant.

Yes, Mike, you are correct. All "off topic" posts should be dealt with. This is not to say that they should all be deleted but maybe moved to the correct forum. Those that have constructive criticism and are posted in Tips & Techniques should be moved to the Suggestions forum. I don't think I implied that those and only those posts that are "negative off topic" posts were to be deleted. If I did, then I should have been clearer in my explanation.

Well Mike, as soon as a "consistent" system is worked out, with the rules and regs of the site, and what to keep, and what to nuke.....right now we have 25+ personalities who are weeding through the threads, finding what to toss, and what to keep.
We had a pretty defined passage at the previous boards, and it was easier to distinguish what should be allowed. The site is only on its 2nd day, give it time. RCU is not going to fall. We have received more compliments than complaints.
Enjoy.

Administrator,
Look, you did kill off the old site without warning, ........... Well I did not get any warning. So you have to understand that RCU was the one place people went to look up problems along with all of the other items RCU offered.
With all of the flyers that have more money than God decides to start a new RCU type of site I think you will see your web trends stats go down, and keep going down.
Just wondering? Can you not offer the old RCU forms for some of us that need to research a problem? Or maybe convert back? Now since you have shocked! and upset so many a good PR move might be helpful.
Also you might want to leave all the threads and stop deleting them. You must agree that by deleting them makes the New RCU look like, ............. Well ............... Just read this thread and you will get it.
I will say that along with the guys I have talked to here in the local clubs, Not happy[sm=drowning.gif].
Thanks

Hello, I am Capt. Winters. I will say this. I do not like having my post deleted, just because you do not like its contents. I simply asked what happened to all the warbird classifieds that were on the old RCU. YOU need to respect those people who may not care for your new layout. It is hurting the future of this fine site, you worked so hard to build. Please reconsider your thoughts on deleting what you object to, or be kind enough to give an explanation. The old site was a great place, just to go and have fun. Thank you for your time Capt. Winters

The old site and the new site are run by the same people who love RC just as much as you. It also has the same policies as the previous version of RCU. Nothing has changed to that regard. It's the same people, moderating the same way, upholding the same policies as always. If you feel you've been wrongfully moderated, please send me an email and I will most certainly address it. Please do continue enjoying RCU as you always have, and we'll continue to try and make it the best place to buy, sell, and discuss R/C on the internet.
