A simple fix would be to keep positive scoring but get rid of negative scoring.
The next best thing woud be not having a score system at all.
Does anybody else agree with this idea?
(we should have a vote)
Keep it?
Get rid of it?
Positive scoring only?

I say let it stay as is for a couple of months or three, and re-assess.
Personally, I think it will be mostly ignored, except for childish fun (nothing wrong with that), so it's mostly just a waste of screen real estate. But I could be wrong, and after a few years, maybe there will be people with great negative numbers that we can all ignore to the community's benefit, and others with great positive numbers that we will revere. It's sort of like when you're in Amazon marketplace, and you're buying from someone with 93,000 ratings and an average of 4.9, you can be pretty sure you're in good hands (or perhaps being scammed big time). I understand the difference (on Amazon, in theory, only people with a business relationship can post ratings), but it may work anyway.

As i think I repleied to a similar thread..
potentially neat idea, in theory... but will cause more harm than good.
But just breeds contempt, and will eventually alienate people. It makes it easy to hide behind. Have guts say so...
Get rid of it all together, or make able to rate the post, not the poster..
(I'm venting.. i went from +2 to -2 in one day.. On which post, and who bashed me?!!! [:@] )

I would like to vote for positive scoring, if you have scoring at all. Otherwise, I think that it may have the potential to get out of hand in the hard feelings department. Just my $.02.
