I notice the 'new messages since the last time you were here' resets almost immediately, whereas before it took about 30 mins.

Because I don't look through every single message since I was last in, in one session, but come back a few times within about 30 minutes, I am losing most of the messages.

Could we return to, say, 30 minutes before it resets?

there are some bugs in the tracking so it is all being rewritten. the new code should be online in a week or two.

the setting is 25 minutes or so. after 25 minutes of total inactivity on the site it times you out and everything resets. if you switch computers right now it gets messed up since it is set on cookie on each computer. the new code will fix all this.
