Default Adds inserted in thread view

I noticed today that part way through reading a thread page, the messages are split and an ad was inserted. This is annoying. I like the ads, but breaking up a thread is not the way to get them read. I haven't turned ads off for this site, but this is so annoying that I certainly will if it can't be corrected.

Thanks.

Ben,

You never minded the ads because you never saw them. going to a new post brings you right past the ad at the top of the page every time and out of view. Now you are seeing them. Feel free to turn them off if you don't like them. However this is a free site supported in large by advertisements and bypassing them which is done everytime somebody clicks new posts will not support RCU. Also ads are ONLY inserted when you click "new posts" and are not inserted when you go into a forum and navigate to a thread or if you click next page. These are strictly in place to get around the "new post" issue.

Not so. I hit this site several times a day and spend more hours than my bosses need know reading this site. I've been hitting "New posts" since this site went online. This behavior just started today. Believe me I would have noticed. I have ads turned off on every site I visit except this one and one other. I notice these things.

This is new site behavior this is borderline offensive.

Marc,
I agree in a large part with Ben Diss 1st post.
I understand the need for your ad support. I do disagree with you

as to not seeing the ads. Everytime I respond to an e-mail advise of a new post I have to sit and wait for at least two ads to load below your header data and say Engine conversion and the thread data before it ever gets to the new post. I must have seen Wacker's ad 100 plus times!!

Since there seems to be no interest in this matter, I have turned off ads at this site. It is a shame that the customer service level at RCU has fallen so far.

I've found it a little confusing when clicking on a link to a post and finding an ad inline with the thread. On more than one occasion I have thought that I was at the end of the thread due to the ad.

Rather than complain about the ads, which are there to pay for the free service that RC Universe provides, I will make a suggestion. Instead of breaking the table between posts to show the ad, maybe the table could be left intact with the ad in the cell where the post is normally displayed. It would also be nice to be able to bookmark ads as often I will want to look at a product, but not necessarily at the time that I see the ad. A persons list of bookmarked ads could be displayed in the left hand cell of the "inline ad" post where the posters information is usually displayed.

I've attached a picture to illustrate what I am trying to say.

ben,

you misread what I posted. I said that this only happens when using new posts now. prior to this you never saw an ad at the top of the page because clicking new posts bypassed it. that is why you are now noticing it because I fixed it so it shows an ad at the top of the page load when clicking new posts.

If you want to turn off ads that is fine but you will miss some of the latest products to hit. We are breaking new products in the market for many companies and you will not be the first to see them. If you have an interest in new rc products or supporting rcu you can turn them on if you desire. Prior to this you bypassed the top ad everytime and this modification solves the problem.

If you want to see offensive advertising how about popups, dynamic html ads, animated ads, timer popups, flash ads that roll across your page and so on. We don't do any of these whereas some of the largest most successful websites do. Our ads are standard web ads which do nothing more than load at the top of your browser. Let's not make them into more than that please. Also you knock our customer service. How do you expect RCU to pay for top notch customer service which it appears you expect when you don't want to look at any ads? No need to respond. Just rhetorical.
