this place needs some organization... things just run together...
it doesn't really matter how many forums you have... it's how you set them up...
i do volunteer myself to organize everything, if it is necessary to have someone else do it

Doesn't the MyRCU section allow you to select only those forums that you want, and then once those forums are tagged, you can search them? I remember seeing that but never used that. If I am correct, and organizing is user defined and that is the way it should be. Maybe a tutorial on that section for people who want more structure specific to their interest but as a whole, don't mess with what works!

what i mean is putting the forums into separate headers so that they are easier to locate... Geistware, you said you don't use that feature... how many people do you think would spend time to set it up?
what i would think to do is this... set up the headers as follows:
FAQs and How To's: as the name implies, this header would house the frequently asked questions section, and the how-to's section
Aerial RCs: this would contain all the forums pertaining to any radio controlled aircraft
Hydro RCs: this would contain all the info about RC boats and other "sea worthy" craft
Land RCs: this section would administer to those who are looking for information on radio controlled cars and trucks
Marketplace: this would contain all the information about how to buy and sell using this website, provide user ratings in some form or another, and house a "flea market" where anybody could buy or sell their parts or vehicles
to me, it makes sense to have things set into categories rather than just thrown around... vBulletin can be, and is a very powerful tool in the right hands.
just as an example, take a look at this vBulletin forum:
http://www.3geez.com
very organized, and straight to the point
take some time to think about it, and i apologize that it took so long to reply back
thanks in advance,
Derick
