Suggested policy:
NO personal threads unless they are positive-----there ARE at least TWO sides to every story.
The recent (and unfortunate) example should provide all the justification needed.

This is a Hobby let's keep it at that level.

unfortunately certain parts of that thread went south unecessarily. I think it is too much to censor anything just because it is negative or positive though. that is a dangerous road to travel on. We do try and moderate whenever necessary and keep things productive here. If hot spots blow up always report them so the moderators can ferret them out faster and a ticket is created for action of some kind to be taken.

Your forum.
However if I were Al Kretz I would be looking for scalps as he has been demonized upon the word of one man and that man happens to have a dog in this hunt.
This is a small hobby when you look at the actual numbers competing----scale less numbers than most of the other fields. And Al is pretty well known. It HAS to be embarrassing for him and I'm not convinced he did anything except get on Gordon's "S" list.
I understand your position but Al's reputation has been impugned by the word of one guy who does have an Axe to grind. Then we get the others venting for reasons of venting-----.
That is why I took the time to post the suggestion.
I've been heard by RCU Admin. ----so that's the end of it for me.
Al Kretz,-----well he is the only one who knows the toll this has taken from his enjoyment of the hobby.

One of the most difficult thing to do is determine when constructive criticism becomes a negative response.
I tend to side on the benefit of the poster until it becomes obvious that it is a personal attack

As long as no facts are misstated we will let a post ride. I'm sure Al is a fine person and for us we are neutral here. We have no ties whatsoever to RCR or to Al in any way, shape or form.
Your advice that this is a hobby is a good one. However for some it becomes a hobby and a business. RCR is a business just like any other magazine or most online properties and when money is involved it becomes more than a hobby.
Nobody likes to see anyone get slammed unless it is truly warranted. In cases where it is warranted there are always people posting to defend the crooks and in cases where it is NOT warranted there are always people to defend the good guys. We all must hope that people read through the noise and get a clear takeaway.
