I have two suggestions one is put a Projects category in the RC Cars forum so people can show what they have done to their vehicles over time and the other is put in a Homemade/Custom RC in the RC Cars section aswell, so people can post pictures of their homemade or custom made RCs and Parts.

Both of these topics can be put in the general r/c cars forum. I'm not sure at this point whether there would be enough activity to sustain these two forums.
