Default Can we please have more space?

I would like to post a picture of my truck in my signature area bur there is no room!! I can't fit the link into the space without the little box reading zero in no time. This is very fustrating, a forum this popular should have unlimited space. EVERY other forum I have been to seems to have unlimited space or a least gives us more space. I am very fustrated. Why do we have to pay for a membership to get more signature space? I know you pay for more pictures and classifieds but it makes no since. I hope there are other people who feel this way and can back me up, its getting old RCU. Help out your members!![sm=punching.gif]

Thank you,

Annie

Signatures slow loading, take up space and add clutter when they get too large or too long. this is why we limit it. If you upgrade your membership you can get 5 lines instead of 2 but still no photos allowed. not everyone is on broadband yet.

I thought it was 4? Im fine with that, although I wish our avatar was the forum standard 100 x 100

Its 2006 for crying out loud. If they don't have the money for broadband but have the money for this hobby...that right there tells you something. Face it, two lines just isn't enough. You can take all of the ads and crap you have on this forum and put that space and memory to good use.

I'm in no way connected to the management of RCU, not even as a moderator, but I'd like to put in my 2 cents. Believe it or not, many people in this country can't get broadband, even if they were willing to pay for it. Also, for many, paying for the cost of broadband would probably mean they couldn't afford this hobby. So, perhaps a bit more sensitivity is in order?

In addition, I have broadband and I find pictures in sigs to be extremely annoying. I want to see the words a person wrote, not his pet picture in every one of his posts. I don't see why readers should be forced to scroll through these annoying things and I applaud RCU management for taking a stand against them! [sm=thumbup.gif]

RCU has done a great job of making gallery space available for you to post your favorite pictures. People who want to see them can choose to do so, but others are not forced to see them while they are trying to read a thread. Perhaps you could add a comment in your sig telling people you've got some great pictures in your gallery.

Not to come off smart or anything, but the are a lot of ads that can be taken off and add more space. It really dosen't matter but it was a suggestion, and this is what a suggestion forum is for.
P.S.: Even when I chose to take the ads off of my page they still appear. Help?

Are you asking for an avatar, a picture under your name? Or capability to post a picture in your signature line? You can post pictures with every post.

I'm not sure what you want, but I'm sure if you post the same picture with every post, I'll get just as tired of that as I am of the avatars. I can't imagine why anyone wants to include a picture with each post of some plane, cartoon, or some guy playing bagpipes.

Once on the sitcom Cheers, Norm explained to Cliffie that he was bringing potatos into the bar, telling people they looked like Richard Nixon or Florida, and was thinking people were interested. He was explaining that to Cliffie because he was a friend, and advised him not to do that.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson

You got something against bagpipes? I put that pic there to make it obvious that "piper" had nothing to do with a cub or plumbing!

Umm....I dont know....maybe to be unique and stand out from the crowd....Seeing I re-formed and re-created almost my entire avatar using my photoshop skills Im plenty proud to use it as my avatar. And Marc is showing off the RCU edition plane, do you have something against RCU as well....

I have been to some forums in which the members are allowed to have a banner as their signature. I get awfully tired of having to scroll past those banners. A lot of times, the banner takes up more space than the actual post.

Did I read that right? You want RCU to remove the ads and other 'crap' so YOU can put a picture in YOUR signature? Allow me to rephrase that question. You want RCU to remove the advertisements and other resources which companies pay RCU money, the primary means for which RCU is financially supported, to make more room so you can use up those resources for free? Without all those ads and other 'crap' you wouldn't have this forum to complain.

It's not the resources that are the problem, it's the idea that additional forced photos in signatures make the pages load slower, look terrible, make the thread harder to read, etc. I'm amazed at what some people feel they deserve.
