How about a vintage older models section. No longer available such as old radio gear, kits, plans, etc.

we had a section like that on the forum home page for awhile but it did not get much activity at all...I think 6-8 posts in a month or thereabouts...

To justify any dedicated forum it needs to have some significant amount of interest as indicated by posts as otherwise the home page would become unwieldy and large.
