how about instead of just simple post counts, how about a rating similar to trade feedback. Lets say i ask where is south of the border? Among the 5 replys i get 1 right answer. Now im off to get that bumper sticker thanks to ________. I should be able to say a short something to let everyone know this guy was dead on and therefore, give future question askers a heads up on all the replys they get. Take for example my post about a stirpped bolt http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...42&forumid=215 i got a couple replys but one was perfect for me ...... i should be able to give him a shout out for the right info ........not to make people look smarter or seems better than other, but just to help steer people in the right direction. get what im saying??

I like this idea as well. User feedback on a member would help everyone get an understanding of the experience/knowledge levels they are talking with. Not just a thumbs up or down but actual comments.

A karma rating if you will for experience...
Rate a member maybe from 1-10 and we take the average. No average under 5 gets shown so if yours is low it may be because you were never rated or because it is in fact low. If 6 or higher we show it after 7+ ratings are made to your knowledge/help rating....or somethin' like that.

Yes, and/or a line to describe a specific experience where one's advice came in particularly useful. I know this could lead to abuse, but maybe it would be feasible for the messages to be approved by a mod before being attached to one's user karma to prevent personal attacks and the like. Either that or having the ability for the user to report slanderous remarks.
