Default Improve Search Capability

The current method for searching within a thread is virtually useless! Key words and phrases continually come up with "the system could not find any record". This seems to happen when you know a thread contains the search word. Never have the problem at RCG.

Sometimes the RCU searchs can miss things. If you scroll down to the bottom of each page there are Google tools for searching all of RCU or just the thread/forum you are in. I've found that using these tools will usually find what you are looking for. Check them out and see if they help you.

Our native seach is not as good as google and some other sites. We are planning a major upgrade shortly to address these shortcomings. in the meantime as ken says use the google supplement search which appears on our pages and search page too if a native search comes up dry

Well at the bottom of the thread for the Twist there is the google search that has two bars one says search this thread, ok i type in OS 61 FX which i know is metioned alot in that thread. and i get the system could not find any record error. So i tried it like this O.S. .61 FX and the same.

I would like to view all the post that have O.S. .61 FX mentioned in them. So i wouldn't have to spend hours searching through 30 pages to find one post that talks about that particular engine in that plane.

Is there going to be a fix in the future for this type of searching for specific topics in a thread??

Just curious thank

Just did a search for "cockpit" under "search this thread" in the H9 Corsair build and search came up with nothing and I know there is a lot of discussion on it??? Any word on when version 3 is going to be out? I get more and more frustrated every time I use it - ask RCG what they use.

We already know what RCG uses. We used to use that until we moved to this platform. It is vbulletin. Due to the 3 year delay and what appears to be continued delays with the 3.0 version by this developer we are going to migrate to Vbulletin in the coming months. This is a very large undertaking in terms of scripting the realtime data migration from two separate data schemas so I don't have an exact date but suffice to say the wheels are in motion for the migration and we will put resources on it to get it done as fast as we can. It will be a major improvement and upgrade for us. Had I known 3.0 was going to be an endless string of delays like this we would have migrated to vbulletin 2 years ago. Better yet had i known of these delays we never would have left vb for this software 5 years ago!
