Watt Flyer (sister site to RCU)is dedicated to all things involving electric airplanes. They have a forum there dedicated to glow and gas conversions to electric.

Also in that forum should include the harder task of converting electric to nitro. But it would be a cool forum to have and might even bring more people to rcu.

I agree with Andrew RCU needs a Car/Truck conversion section. I spent a lot of time researching the idea of doing a BL conversion and searched a lot of forums. Regretfully I have to say when it comes to conversion info RCU is one of the hardest to find info on that subject matter.
Now the flip side to that is RCU is my favorite forum so a conversion section would take what is great now and make it even better.

If you say there is support for a forum of this sort it will need to be documented before Nathan and Marc will consider creating a forum. One thing that will kill a discussion forum quicker than anything else is a forum with no traffic in it, and they won't create a forum that won't have traffic. If you can show them that there is interest out there for a forum such as this they may consider it.

Off topic section - The lounge (Lots of buggys being converted evan a jato)
Buggy section - Lots being converted (Ofna's, hypers)
Traxxas - Tons of converstions (T maxx, revo, jato) [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6279890/tm.htm]Link to Revo's[/link]
Mini section - Seen a couple mini nitros converted to brushless.
There's lots more if you just open your eyes and look for them, im sure there would be intrest in the electric to nitro too.. I think it is a great idea and it should be followed up. It would be more popular then the drag racing, motorcycle and more sections..

You need to provide Marc and Nathan a list of specific threads that are discussing this issue. If they see the ongoing pattern of this being discussing in existing forums then they'll be more likely willing to create a new forum for this topic. Trust me, I know exactly what they are looking for here as I petitioned them to create a new forum at one time. There were quite a few hoops that I had to jump through to get the forum created. I'm not trying to be difficult here for you because I understand your desire to see a new forum created, but rather I'm trying to help you out. I'm telling you what Marc and Nathan are going to look at. If you can point them to the specific threads that this topic is being discussed in it makes it easier for them to find and look at. But if they have to hunt for the info in a forum full of threads they are going to be less likely to spend the time looking for that information.

Setup a poll in the forum you think it will get the most responses and see what the membership says. If a majority sees a need and wants it, we'll give it a try.

The general consensus is if you have a project conversion, you're best off discussing it in a forum for that vehicle rather than one general conversion forum. For example, if you have a monster truck you'd like to convert, your best option is to talk with other monster truck owners in the that forum, not one forum for all r/c products.

jokin!
