There are three clearly distinct categories in the Swap Shop - Airplanes, ARFs amd Kits not to mention Giant Scale and Warbirds. This delineation was a good well intentioned idea implemented by Marc. BUT - How many of you are sick of seeing ARFs in Planes and Kits in ARFs and Planes in Kits and ARFs in Kits and duplicate and triplicate posts in all three??, etc - the permutations continue. Then some people feel its ok to use the Warbird and Giant Scale Forums for a second or even perhaps third adjunct venue for their For Sale items. Its out of control - nobody is making the effort to keep things straight. Nobody in authority seems to care. Why continue to have these well defined categories if order is not maintained? The same is happening in the Discussion Forums as well but thats another sore spot nobody will address. As RCU grows these problems worsen.

You're right Shemp... nobody with authority at RCU cares, we hope RCU continues down the path of self destruction, we love to ignore these deficiencies that are occuring more and more every day, and of course my favorite one, we have no idea what we're doing.

Mr. Fenton, my statements above are indeed sarcastic but we've heard your comments so many times and they're always saying the same things. I will indulge you one more time with an unecessary explanation since you feel you're so deserving. We try to maintain RCU according to the community policies. Not everything will be caught by the moderators, but the current RCU team is the best I've run accross on this or any other forum on the internet. They are volunteers who love r/c and RCU. They dedicate their free time to make RCU the best place to buy sell and discuss r/c, and for that you should be thankful. Instead of telling them what they don't do, tell them how thankful your are you have such a great place to spend a little of your free time.

We know we're not perfect, we know some things have been or will be missed. We also have put tools in place for people who are bothered by this... "Report Post to RCU Moderator Team".

Please enjoy RCU for what it is Mr. Fenton instead of complaining about what it isn't. Be thankful you have such an incredible resource, and be thankful for the price you pay out of your pocket to enjoy it.

Shemp,

I agree with Plane Insane. We try to catch as much as we can but at the same time try to balance things and not over moderate. Your method of strict moderation caused me dozens of angry emails from users here at RCU which clearly angers people more than it endears them. As such we clean up as much as we can and whatever is blatantly against the rules. Some borderline stuff is better off letting it "fall off" rather than take action to alienate a user unecessarily.

As far as users listing an item in the wrong spot it only hurts them. People go to categories to find certain things and if they are not listed in the right place they are harder to find.

For every post/thread that doesn't get moved several DO get moved but with 3500 a day and a balanced approach a strict level of perfection will not be achieved.

Perhaps I expect too much of you guys - probably others feel the same way here, how many is anybodys guess. I do appreciate RCU but I see the same blatant and obvious things go uncorrected day after day. It makes it hard for me to buy your argument and explanation. The best we can do is agree to disagree on these points.

Shemp...I'm ok with that! Also...feel free to continue to bring problem postings to our attention...it is never the case that we don't care and a good deal of what you report is addressed by the moderators. Thanks for your input and help.

So you were into Zap Comix eh?
Do you recall the others of that genre - Fat Lip Funnies, Yellow Dog, etc. and some of those S. Clay Wilson sickies - Capt. *iss Gums?

Takes a bit more than that to get locked out of RCU...

Oddly enough with over 32,000 members we have less than 20 people banned from RCU! That is an extremely low percentage I always felt. About 1 in 1600.

I understand your only trying to help make RCU a better place and have no ill intent. I do appreciate that you care.

You're the Donald Rumsfeld of RCU. I love it!

Nice one!

Do you mind if I use it somewhere else?

-David C.

p.s. FWIW, I am a sysop in a couple of compuserve forums, and have to say that this one is about the best run I have ever seen.
