'Vs.' forum / sticky threads

Time and time again different 'Vs.' debates crop into ordinary, unrelated discussions or forums, ie. the 'Nitro Vs. Electric' debate. Eventually these threads end up wasting the administrators time, they have to read the threads, try to defuse tension, and lock them, move them to containment, or kick/ban users when appropriate. Yet for enough hobbyists these 'endless debates' are part of the hobby and they don't seem to be going away anytime soon.
So how about a new subforum dedicated to 'endless debates' with a bunch of threads (one for each 'debate') where users can post to their heart's content in existing threads but not create new ones. Anytime discussion takes place in another forum, the posts are deleted and the people are told to take it to the appropriate 'endless debate' forum and thread. This way the rest of us can ignore the subforum while the hobbyists who enjoy the debates can have their own forum and not interfere with the rest of the boards.
