Ringed engines are broken-in much differently than ABC-type engines. You want to do the initial running of a ringed engine at full throttle with the high-speed needle as rich as possible and still have the engine running. After about 10-15 minutes of this, you can gradually lean the engine towards peak RPM. When the engine will accept being leaned to peak and hold the needle setting, you can then retard the throttle and adjust the idle mixture and RPM. The engine is ready to fly.

The instructions that come with the engine detail the breakin process in much more detail, and can be downloaded from the SuperTigre website.
