bax , i have 2 2500's and one has a brass cone , on the crank behind the drive washer,
one is just a straight shaft , is there any diff in strenght?
also, the coned one has a smaller bearing , it appears.
what year did they stop making them?
thanks

The SuperTigre S-2000 and S-2500 engines used the same crankshaft. The brass cone you saw is the locking cone for the drive washer, and both engines used one. They also had a small brass spacer just behind the front bearing. Both engines used the same bearings. In fact, the only parts that were different were the crankcase, cylinder liner, piston, ring, and cylinder head...the parts that actually make the difference in displacement between the two engines. Externally, they were exactly the same, except for markings. All of the other parts, crank, rod, bearings, front housing, rear cover, etc. were the same between the two engines.
