Hey Bob,
I am in the process of building a TREX 450 XL (CCPM) and appreciate all the help your videos have given me. I am using a Hitec Eclipse 7 Tx with the 7 channel HF-08RD Tx, Phoenix 45 ESL, HS-65HB servos with a HS-61 for the tail rotor. I shoehorned an AON 2815-3500 into the motor bay, and having a little difficulty fitting and routing the electronics. The LiPo battery is massive (Impulse 3 cell 2100 ), the Rx is way too wide for the Rx bay and the ESL. Everything is dry fitted but as a total flingwing noob (Models anyhow) I could use some guidance as to the perils of electronics placement in my specific case
I have found a couple of ways to streamline the installation, but need the benfit of your experience.
1. Can I cut the motor wires down? I would like have it no more than 3 inches between the motor and ESL
2. Is it a problem mounting the Rx as shown?
3. Do you have any tips on the setup for the Eclipse Tx?
Oh, and by the way, as we are neighbors, I just have to ask........ You an Angels fan??
Thanks again for all the help, and maybe we can meet sometime, and I can buy you lunch

Hello Bob;
Thanks for such helpful videos; I built my first TREX only by watching those videos. 3 days ago; I lost control of my helis tail. It started to wobble; and I managed to bring it down from 15 feet upto 2 feet; and then it crashed.
I replaced and fix everything; but now the feathering shaft is bent; and I'm not sure how to repair it. Should I just buy the feathering shaft? or is there any other thing I need to buy; bearning, etc...
btw, I have a TREX SE V1.
Here's a pic of how my repair is gone so far;

Hello Bob;
I fixed my TREX; the ruddler works as indicated in your video setting up the 401 gyro. When I'm hovering; the tail is steady; however; if I input too much ruddler; the tail starts to wobble.
What I'm doing wrong??

Is it gone becaus the heli is "older"?
Please help.
My small issues are the following:
- I am not able to get one of the servos to be fully vertical (parallel to the main shaft), is this a huge deal?
- I am using the center hole which doesn't make the linkages parallel to the ground, is this an issue?
- Whenever I am moving the stick somewhat quickly between position 2 to 3-4, the heli is wanting to rotate counter clockwise. The gain on the Gyro is set at about 60%.
I am running hs 55 servos all around along with GY 240 gyro.
Any advice?

Bob, Your videos have been great. Like having a mentor in the shop to help as I build mine. My step I need help with now... I have to velcro the battery and receiver tapes in. What kind of glue do you use so the hook portion doesn't pull off each time you change the battery? Thanks again for a GREAT service to all of us.
Also, consider this an invitation to come fly with us in South Florida! Doc

Bob,
You are My hero ! ! I wouldn't have even considered getting a T-REX without first knowing there were Your build, etc. videos as I have '0' local support in this small town.
Don't get Me wrong, all; everyone here has been great, but the videos are the instant gratification I needed in the setup.
I joined Helifreak JUST to have access to Your videos!
Thanks for transcending into this forum!
Sincerely,
Gary

Am I missing something? As far as I know Bob's video's are only on helifreak and Bob himself said he doesn't come here much anymore.....
Not to mention, for heli's helifreak is the absolute BEST forum (IMHO).

Sounds like RR had the thunder taken out of Him when Finless came along; probably a case of jealousy.

I think this post has been resurected but like others have said if you need quick answers or really in depth answers go to helifreak under the 450 forums theres TONS of info there especially from Finless, I think the only thing he hasnt showed how to do on with a 450 is shoot a nuke off it lol. Not that RCU isnt good too its just that most heli guys IMO question and answer on helifreak more then here, I use RCU mainly for all my car/buggy stuff

Bob, you can add me to the list of people your video helped. I am almost done. I have to watch ccpm2 a few more times before I get it right. Thanks.
