RE: Lets see those Trex pictures!
I love my Trex! I have a MX400 also. The MX400 is a great heli except that only a handfull of places carry parts for them. My MX400 is totally blinged out with carbon and aluminum all the way around. Having done this, I can say that the Trex is definatley the better for choice 3D. On top of that, there are loads of places that carry parts and upgrades for it. Even though I think the Trex better, you should probably buy the one that your LHS carries parts for.

www.rickosplace.com Pick a design or combine multiple ones. Send Rick your canopy. Tell him that Brian Adams of Moultrie, GA sent you. I believe he charges $60 for Trex canopy jobs.

Yeah, those are cool. They're worth $70 only if it is a fiberglass canopy. I doesn't seem to matter how well you prep the plastic ones, they always seem to eventually chip.

That is a sweet paint job !! [sm=tongue.gif] I was trying to decide about what one to buy too. What made up my mind was after reading how close they are T-Rex , ARK X , and MX was looking at the parts sheet for the MX. If you download the parts sheet and look at the links in the head , one of them says ARK on it. Seeing as the ARK is an old T-Rex , I guess I'll get a T-Rex !! Plus the parts are local !!

Now I know that mazakari and I are not the only ones that have pictures of their baby! That being said, how about opening this to any heli?

Guys....beautiful helis. I was looking at those canopies by canomod.com. Is this what you guys have? Do they fit better
than the stock canopy (e.g. interfering with servo horns, etc.)? Thanks.

Actually both of us use stock canopies (mine is fiberglass). They just have a custom paint job. Mazakari added those little air scoops on top of his. I think he trimed a pushrod exit to fit and then used a filler to hide the seam, so it looks stock. My canopy was painted by Rick Lewisinski at www.rickosplace.com and he did an excellent job. The canomod.com canopy's are stock also, they just have custom paint. However, I don't know whether they are fiberglass or not. Fiberglass is not necessary but, I think paint sticks better to them in the long run.

Hi Rob,
endeavor was spot on with my canopies. There are some that are plastic and the newer XL style canopies are fiberglass. The scoops as he said are from wing servo mounts, trimmed to fit. I did this mod because I had some bad rubbing on a couple of my links. I didn't just want to cut holes, so this cleaned it up a little. I paint all my own canopies, some turn out better than others.

Although it's not my flying nor my heli, I did take this photo at one of the local airfields today. Who knows, if anyone here shows up at the upcoming local fly-in, I may snap a few photos of your heli. In a couple of days, I should have more photos hosted on my website that I took today.
