450 SE short boom
Broke my belt. I have a short belt & short boom from another trex. What will I get from the short boom setup? Is it desirable? Should I wait & get A long belt?

RE: 450 SE short boom
You want the long boom anywho, gives faster tail response (Idea of levers applied with the tail boom. The short boom is a short lever and therefor won't move the nose as much as a long lever/long tailboom would.)

RE: 450 SE short boom
Isn't it opposite? Given the rpm based on the main rotor speed (gear ratio) we can ge the tail rotor rpm. If the short belt is has same tooth / inch or whatever the measurement, the tail rotor will turn same rpm as in the loner boom.
In a circle, it takes longer to run following the circumference of the circle if you are on same speed, so longer tail boom actually give slower response.
I think the longer tail boom should ease up the force need to move the tail. Maybe this is why?
Just a thought.

Exactly
You are right though now that I think of it I DID have it backwards, lol. I dunno, I just remember Align advertising that the longer boom was supposed to give more control (perhaps they meant more accurate???)
