My Align 35A ESC that came with my 450 SE was defective. I've sent it back to the online store I purchased it from 2 weeks ago. After several communications and broken promises from that shop (powerhobby.com) I purchased the Phoenix 45 from the LHS. I still haven't installed the Phoenix as I'm trying to be good and wait for the Align replacement so I can save my $100.
However, I'm at the end of my wits with Powerhobby so I'm very close to installin the Phoenix and being done with it. My main question is, there is no heat sink on this, should I worry about heat on that ESC? Also, are the Castle Creations ESCs a BUNCH better than the stock?
Thanks in advance!

call powerhobby, ask for mohamed. Ask him to send your new ESC UPS, not USPS. I had some isues with them as well, but after a few calls I had everything straight. The first batt's he sent me via USPS never came, even tho the tracking page says they are on the way.

Yeah, I'm going through the same thing with Mohammed right now. I can't believe USPS has that many problems.
Anyway, I've already installed the Phoenix since the LHS won't take it back even though it's unopened.

Yeah I don't know what the heck is up with USPS up in NY near Power Hobby, But after three calls I ended up asking for UPS so i could track real time the progress. And told him if the other stuff showed up I would send back.
As it turns out the next week after getting my UPS package the first sent USPS actually got to me, I called them and sent the extras back.

the Phoenix 35 is as much as you'll need on the 450
if you look on trextuning website in the 3s & 4s motor reviews you'll see 35a speedo is more than up to the job even with a real power hungry motor in there
