Not sure if i have a problem with my SA kit or not but the metal control link rods that came with my kit dont measure the same as the measurments given in the instruction manual, they are all longer. I feel that if I tried to assemble them and connect them I will have a problem setting the bird up. Anyone else have this issue when building the links?

I got a 450XL kit and all the linkages went together nicely. All of my head adjustment was in the TX. I used dial calipers on mine and built them all to exact lengths. I ended up screwing almost every one of them down till only 1 thread or no threads showed. Have you put any together at all yet?

I have the SE but my kit was ok. Are you sure you screwed the ball cups far enough in on the metal rods? and are you sure you're putting them in the correct place?

Yes Ive screwed them all the way in, in fact the 2 main rotor links are butted up against each other and they are longer then the specs in the manual, also the instructions give the rod length for them at 9mm, I dont have anything that small in my linkage kit, the smallest was 12mm. As I said none of the linkages measure the amounts given in the manual, they are all longer by about 3 mm. I know this is going to through my settings way off.
I am using a digital caliper to get the measurements also and they are all off.

With out seeing them and going by what you say I'm guessing they put the wrong links in with the kit, they have so many different kits they probably screwed up. IF you want to wait contact Align and have them send new ones if you don't want to wait go to your LHS and pick up some new links I think they are only $8 or so.

You may be making the same mistake I made. Don't go by the pictures in the manual and try to adjust the rods. You need to physically measure each rod, and then maeasure from center of each ball link to get the final measurement. The manuals pictures are way off, but the numbers for the measurements are correct.

Crash n Burn...There are three measurements for the links. Eye to Eye, Total length and exposed link rod length. Be sure you are making them based on the proper length.

I got some new links and assembled them to specs and now its time to set everything up following Finless's videos. Need to pick up my new Spectrum DX6 first tho. I should have everything up and running in a few days. Thanks all
