Default Tail servos

Hi guys,
After much experience with smaller electric helis I am finally building a Trex and have this question- Does the Trex require a larger tail servo than a 9 gram submicro? The kit that I bought has a tail mount for a four screw servo so that got me thinking, does this need a micro or larger or is this just in case?

Thanks in advance for your input,
Huey

Hi Huey,
My first T-Rex had a Hitec HS50 for the tail. Light weight and quick. But the tail mechanics had to be silky smooth. I do not recommend this servo. The next setup had HS56 servos all around.
Nowadays, many people use the digital Futaba 9650. Alternates include the Hitec HS81, HS65 and several other servos.
Out of curiosity, what gyro and cyclic servos are you planning on using?

The popluar choices with a good gyro like a 401 are the 9650 and the lightning fast 9257

I plan to use the telebee and a HS55 at first but I would like to get a GY240 or 401. Is the 9650 a full size servo? Has anyone tried the 3154?
