This is my first heli build so hopefully slomeone can answer the question. On the 450s how should I mount the window? CA glue or Screws?

I used screws on mine. It would be pretty hard to glue it without getting CA all over the place. Use tape to hold it to the canopy the way you want it, then use a pin vise with a very small drill bit to make 4 holes at 12,3,6,and 9 0'clock. I used 4 very small black screws from the spare parts bag. Worked for me. Alan

i asked this question earlier w/o an answer - i tried using glue from a glue gun - did a good job holding but the finish results was not the most esthetic - it looked kinda rough looking - i was then thinking of getting maybe red tape and putting a nice strip all around it to hide the rough glue .... have not tried it yet.

lemme know if you find any other options ... for some reason the screw thing sounds a little unsecure to me

the screws would be more secure if you threadlocked a nut onto the back, the plastic is pretty thin, so either a nut or a small rubber grommet would work.

The thing I like about the screws is it gives you the ability to repaint the canopy w/o having to mask the window and the glue seems like it would seep through. Another route which I was going to try, is to cut the window leaving a wide enough border where it can be attached from the inside of the canopy. Kind of like how it is on the Axe CP. Screws are better I think.

i did cut mine that i have the option to mount it from inside or outside - i will remove the glue and screw it in place.

I didn't know about anything called canopy glue either. Anyway, the small screws are plenty secure without nuts or locktite. The holes should be small enough that the screws will thread into them. I guess you could put a drop of CA on the back of the screws after you screw them in if you're worried but after 9 months of flying I've never had to tighten mine. Alan
