Default 600E - Bad main bearings?

Anyone had a problem with play in the main shaft bearings on the 600E? Mine is just a month old and I have to replace them. I can rock the shaft back and forth about a mm each way. Bearings are glued in the blocks.

I ordered the metal block kit and new bearings so hopefully that will solve it.[:'(]

I love it...way past time you say? So these bearings only last 12 flights?[sm=50_50.gif] I would have figured Align to be better than that.

Check your frame alignment. If out the bearing blocks will be out of line. causing the bearings to move/bind. Thats the first I have heard of a main bearing problem on a the 600e. Something is amiss possibly building error causing the blocks to go out of round. 1 mm movement? maybe the wrong bearings.

Folks around here have not reported a problem yet. OI have heard of one way bearing locking on early 600N.

Thanks, but there isn't a way to miss align them since they have aligning tabs.

I pulled it apart last night and reinstalled with shaft in and it's still loose.

I have new parts in the mail.

I'll post here the result.

All I hear around here is that Align is the king of helis, yet I have had my Raptor for over a year and it's never had a loose bearing issue.

the stock align bearings can be bad news and dont last long. its been noted even the replacement bearings seem to hold up better.

1mm is allot of movement.

when you move the shaft are you sure the outside race isnt moving. if the bearings are installed incorrectly its possible that the bearing holders are hogged out causeing the play because the whole bearing spun inside the plastic bearing holder. [something to check out]

pull the bearings out and check to see if there notchy and fit firmly in the plastic

I have 3 600e's with well over 400 flights and no bearing problem. The way the bearings install it is pretty hard to mess them up. Very interesting!!!!!!!!!

The shaft moves back and forth in the inner race.....top, mid and bottom bearings.

I replaced the bearings with new metal blocks. Must be the shaft, will check that soon.

Had a friend bring a main shaft over to check and that was the culprit. All is good now.
