HELICOMMAND => Difficulty to setup for TRex450
Hi,
I am flying TRex450SE v2 for about 10 months and recently decided to instal HELICOMMAND 3A.
I am practicing hovering with video camera on board and would like to get more stable conditions for video shooting.
My recent video here: http://www.rcuvideos.com/video/HeliSept1st2008-wmv
I have installed HELICOMMAND 3A, but I am struggling to set it right (swash-plate movement).
As I mentioned I have TRex450 with Futaba 7C (2.4GHz) transmitter.
What I did:
1) Set my Futaba 7C in H1 mode (each servo is acting from it's own stick);
2) I connected HELICOMMAND 3A according to manual;
My problem:
1) When I am checking swashplate movement I am not getting right bechaviour.
2) I re-connected servos in all possible ways and tried out inverting them in all possible combinations.
3) If I am looking from the front at helicopter, then swashplate bechaive as:
- Left one as back one;
- Back one as right one;
- Right one as left one;
4) It look like swashplate turned around 120 degree cntr-clockwise.
5) Any attempts with inverting servos or re-arranging connections didn't help so far.
I'D LIKE SOMEONE WITH HELICOMMAND SETUP EXPERIENCE (for TRex type of heli) TO GIVE ME AN ADVICE REGARDING HELICOMMAND 3A SETUP on TRex450.
I am looking forward to receive some help.
Thank you,
Andrew.

It is about a few weeks as I am flying my Trex with Helicommand.
Everything set properly and just fine tuning is undergoing these days.
Thank you,
Andrew.

Smooth flying T-Rex 450 SE without HeliCommand, just using expo on the swash.
Glad you got it working now Andrew

I guess..skills ...:-)
Some my Trex-450 video here(w/o HELICOMMAND): http://www.rcuvideos.com/video/HeliSept1st2008-wmv
...and another one from the board of Trex-500 with the same Panasonic camera: http://www.rcuvideos.com/video/HQTre...NASONICS10-wmv
Even w/o helicommand Trex500 is very stable machine.
Thanks,
Andrew.

Thanks guys!
I don't have huge throws on my swash, they're set at (in the AFR) 40% for both Elev and Aileron. Max pitch on this one is +9 degrees
My Expo settings are -16% (Futaba) on Elev and Aileron.
On this SE (in the vid) I have a 220mm flybar rod with 2 weights on each side and Align's heaviest paddles offered. That whole combination and settings keep the heli tame.
I have 2 other SE's that are set up differently... I can flip them over in a 10 foot area, but they're a bear to hover smooth, especially after being jacked-up on coffee .
Andrew, watched your vid, you fly smooth enough w/o HeliCommand... It looks great!
As for me flying far away (in the vid), it always seems real far away in any video, but I DO go too far away at times. When I get out too far I focus my trust on my last stick position and attitude of the heli and fight the urge to NOT freak out... when it comes back into 'view', my breathing returns to normal!
