it should make the tu-ru-RU sound and then start going over the selected options, maybe it beeped one time or two or three times per option depending on the setup, and if you throttle up the beeps should stop.

Good to see you got your heli finished.
I helped you out some months ago with the setup on your post.
Yes, mine goes through the beeps also each time. Throttle up and the beeps will stop.

yep. they beep to tell you what settings is currently selected by a series of beeps. it can get a bit annoying sometimes since you have to wait until its done before the esc is armed. I thinks its a 4 series of beeps. "doh"

Actually it is 5 series for the 5 settings available.
I don't know about waiting to arm because I never wait for the beeps to finish and it seems to already be armed.

my align 35a esc is very reliable. but the align motor is subpar in my book.

Yep, I never wait until they finish!
But why do you say the Align motor is subpar? I LOVE my stock Align motor....

Glad to help out!
They are fun to build and then fly them.
Having built the T-rex will help you with building your Gaui 550
both heli and radio setup.
I ended up getting a GY 401 gyro yesterday to replace my
Telebee gyro. It's on its way now.
You did good to get the 401 to start with.
Good luck with your helicopters!

The 401 is so simple to setup....center the slider, set limit pot to ensure no binding, set gain (roughly 72% if using gyro sense or 32% if using gear endpoints) initialize in HH mode and fly!
