Default GOT IT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received my TREX450SEv2 at work today! $359.99 plus $17.79 shipping = $377.78 with 3day UPS shipping from heliproz.com. Now all i need are the electronics [>:]

(1) Spektrum DX7 (I think it comes with the AR7000 receiver, i will have to check on that.
(3) Hitec HS-5065MG's
(1) GY401 with 9650

dont think im forgeting anything.. Have my list at home. im at work right now.

Already have an IMAX B5 balancing lipo charger. By the way does anybody know if that is a decent quality charger? Cost $90 at closest hobby shop. Ive been using it for my cx2 batteries and it works very well.

Thanks for any comments or advice.

OH YEAH.......Will i need the servos and receiver and gyro for assembly OR can i put it together first? (dont know if i can wait!) OR would it make it easier to just do it all at the same time? As long as i dont have to take anything back apart after its together to put the servos in i will put it together now.

Thanks again, you are always very helpful.

You could start assembly but its really nice to have all your stuff right in front of you. Once you begin its stinks to have to stop and wait for stuff to show up. Enjoy its a great helicopter. While your shopping don't forget tread lock. Mike

rcmiket,

You had to post that pic of all the same stuff i want didnt ya![:@] just rubbin it in! Thats ok hope fully I get some of the stuff for before and for christmas.

Thats a bummer about assembly. I figured I should wait till i have everything but I REALLY want to put it together Guess i will just do a parts count and wait.

COULD I MAYBE ORDER THE CYCLIC SERVOS AND PUT IT TOGETHER WITH JUST THOSE?
sholdn't have to have the gyro and tail servo for assembly as that stuff is mostly external.
same should apply for the receiver right?

Where's a good place to mount the 2 receivers for the AR7000? PICS????

Thanks again.

Thanks i appreciate that. So do you think i could put it together with just the cyclic servos and not run into any issues mounting/running wires with the receiver and GYRO/Tail servo after its already together?

Sure You could build the whole helicopter than deal with the gyro and servo later. Mike

I've had to replace several tail booms and running wires is no big deal. After several mishaps you'll be amazed by just how quick you can get back in the air(providing you have parts on hand). Mike

Oh yeah running wires is second nature to me i work at an electronics shop installing car audio (and Alltel cellphones, thats our main thing), I love zip ties they are your friend when it comes to keeping wires neat looking cant stand it when it looks like a bird nest.

That case makes a great place to hold your batteries and charger.I keep all the ball drivers and associated helicopter stuff in a square Tupperware deal I stole from my wife. Great thing about electric helicopters and planes. No flight box to haul around. Mike

Looking at the manual, you really dont install the servos untill the heli is all together. installing the servos is one of the very last steps to do. So i think i am just going to go to the local hardware store and get more locktite (blue and green right???? is it the same?) and is super glue the same as CA? also what kind of oil do i need? would the oil that came with my ax-10 rockcrawler kit work, its pretty thin maybe like shock oil. Also what might a normal retail store have like "light grease"

Superglue is CA but I would get CA from the LHS Zap or the Bob Smith is good stuff. I use the Red locktite. I use Tri Flow its a really good clean lubricate. The servo installation is pretty straight up the only issue is you need a receiver and transmitter to center them. Here's some reading for you on the V2. Mike

You can build the entire airframe and install the electronics when you get them. You won't be able to set up the head without the cyclic servos but you can put the control links together and have them ready. That's how my SA came as an Almost Ready to Fly. Alan

Thats what I did I got it all together last ln night with motor, esc, and battery mounted. I will post pics later

AND I bought a digital caliper/micrometer and actully measured the fly bar from center and the flybar weights and padles and all that good stuff.

My flybar was actully like 4mm or 6mm longer than it was susposed to be! whats up with that!?[&:]

Im kindof a perfectionist so its centered PERFECT used my digital caliper/micrometer as well as the flybars weights are too. it seems to maybe be a hair off balance still though, that must be in the paddles, hey?

don't loktite the 2 front top center braces yet..if you keep them off...it makes installing the front servo's ALOT easier. then screw/locktite them after you get the servo's in....

never mind i guess the "t-43" loctite in the kit is listed as blue too. Looks green to me!

Also my Tail Drive Gear that lines up with the smaller tail gear is off by about .75mm too low to properly mesh with the smaller tail gear that is attached to the tail pulley. Is this normal? If not how to i fix?

and how do i know what the proper belt tension is?????

One last thing It appears to me (im a newbie at this ccpm stuff) that i have a TON of negative (downward) pitch and hardly any positive (upward) pitch.... definetly not equal in both directions.... did i assemble somthing wrong?

Thanks again guys!

Troy M.
