RE: Trex 450 CLONE WARS
I think I may get a HK450 and see how much I can cut off of The frame to save weight, if I mess it up I will just have spare parts. And for some spare cash, I put my Nitro QUAKE on Flee bay.

Ok, I just picked up the clone SEV2 from Aerialhobby 1 hour ago. I attached some pictures I took below. Few things i noted:
1) There was no manual attached. Although i was assured that the TRex SEV2 manual can be used.
2) Ok, the box was nowhere near that of Align. But at least, it looks better than the while box of HK450... [sm=biggrin.gif]
3) The entire head has already been pre-assembled. But i think i am going to strip everything apart to check for loctiite. For this price, i am skeptical if loctite had been used in the assembly.
4) The tail is also pre-assembled. You just need to insert the belt down the boom.
5) Black CF body, tail and stabiliser fin.
6) Fibreglass canopy (as shown in one of the attached pics below)
7) A pair of fibreglass 325mm blades are bundled in.
8) No decals... [sm=tongue_smile.gif]
Overall, a very nice looking clone. Head and tail assembly is full metal so no upgrades are necessary. First glance of the heli, it does indeed looks like the TRex SEV2. In fact, I am pretty sure it's a 100% replica...
Now the only question is if it will fly as well....
Can't wait to set it up and do a test flight on it![sm=lol.gif]

RE: Trex 450 CLONE WARS
I dodged a bullet today...my tail gear drive's upper pulley no longer turns the belt and has broken it's seal with the shaft. Fortunately I was bench testing my heli on a modified lazy susan setup to test the gyro when I noticed an increasing lack of tail movement until the tail just plain stopped. This is a well documented problem with the HK-450 kit and some folks have found a way to fix it.
This video is a similar type of repair for the lower gear, but I suppose the same procedure would work for the pulley: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJtdtneDCSU
I decided to order Align's HS1216-84 Metal Tail Drive Gear Assembly (2 sets for each of my kits) and Align's HS1018-06 Stabilizer Set since the fins that came with the kit are junk. I highly recommend all HK-450 owners to just either get Align's (or the Micro Heli version) tail drive gear assembly or just loctite it before you crash.....it will slip on you sooner or later!

Hi guys, I have posted this before, The flasher metal head and tail are very soft . You can solve this by installing a copterx head. I have both, the copterx looks like its machined and the flasher looks like thepieceshave been cast. My opinion is that if you want a v2 get the copterx, better fit and finish and higher quality aluminum .
