Default belt snap

hi guys just got a small question on my trex 450. how often do you need to replace the belt because iv been using this belt for about 1 and a half years now and it still works fine i have never replaced a belt ever. i have heard the belt can snap but how? can it just snap and cause a crash because its to old do i need to replace it?

Just keep an eye on it. Look for frays and cracks. It shouldn't just spontaneously combust without giving you a little bit of warning. If you don't want to worry about belts ever again, get a torque tube.

Instead of a belt, it's basically a driveshaft that spins the tail rotor. Similar to how it works on full scale helicopters

Silicone your belt.

I have one going on 3 years old now... It's the original belt.

BTW, correct belt tension has alot to do with it too.

Do a search for this part number - HS 1298. I got mine from HeliProz in Montana. I'm sure they'll deliver internationally. $82 U.S.
