Hey all, just wondering... are there any tachs out there that you can read while flying? Basically, a sensor in the plane and a gauge/ LCD readout on your transmitter? I have no *need* for this, but I think it'd be kinda cool to be able to see what RPM your engine is turning in flight during different maneuvers and throttle settings, and get real time readings.
*edit- I always hit the post button too soon... If there is nothing like this out there, would something like this be feasable, from the frequency stand point? I assume it would need it's own channel, seperate from the transmitter and reciever, so would this be against any AMA rules?

You would need to use another channel for the tx aboard the aircraft. Then you would need a reciever with it's own display, mounted on your hand-held tx. The tx in the aircraft (with it's own battery) would be a lot of extra weight to be hauling. It could be done but it seems it would cost too much to be practical.

Eagletree systems claimed at RCX that they will be coming out with a transmitting system this year.
