Magnum 61RFS
I have a new Magnum 61 RFS. After break in following factory recommendations and ten to twelve 15 minute flights again, following factory recommendations I am only getting 8500 RPM with an APC 12-6 prop, OS F type glow plug, Powermaster 15% nitro 18% oil and the engine is inverted. Can I expect the readings to come up after some more flight time? The engine runs like a dream except for a little loading up after 30 seconds or so of idle time, but I am making improvements with some patience there.

RE: Magnum 61RFS
After discovering the timing was off by one tooth from the factory I am now getting 9700 RPM after a few clicks rich. What a difference one tooth can make.

RE: Magnum 61RFS
My Magnum 61 four stroke is several years old, it took a gallon of fuel before it would idle reliably. But once that was done it will sit there and idle for as long as you want to let it sit there and idle. I have never tried to run it inverted. If this is an old engine (vent on the bottom of the crankcase) I think the idle will get significantly better with more run time. On my Magnum 70's and 91's that have the crankcase vent connected to the intake manifold with a tube, they pretty much have run right out of the box and I have not seen any significant changes in their idle characteristics with run time.
