Pro Size Please for SC 52 4-stroke
Hi
I have just run in a SC 52 4-stroke with 5% nitro and 20% castor. The prop used was MAS 11 X 7 and I was getting 9.3K tach.
I'd like to try it with an APC 12 X 6 on Seagull Stearman bipe (6.6 lb).
Any suggestions on its suitability or alternative size props.
Thanks

Your reading with the 11-7 at 9300 sounds like a good place to be. I would think that your engine will make the most power right in that range. I have a couple 61 4 strokes and it does about the same with a 12-6.
You shouldn't hurt your 52 to run a 12-6. It'll probably be a little below 9000 but that won't hurt anything. I'd think that the thrust would be almost the same?

I am using a ram 11x7 on my SC52 and get about 10400 or thereabouts. Runs sweet as a nut.
This is running my own brew 10% Nitro with Klotz oil @ 20%.
