Default Moki 1.8 RPM

Mine turned the Top-flight PP 18-8 at 8200 RPM, a Dyna-thrust 18-8 (plastic) at 8000 RPM, and a Top-flight PP 20- 6/10 at 6200 RPM all on 10% fuel, It seemed to pull about 18+ Lbs. static on the fish scale with any one of these props. Have since gotten a Bambula 18-8 and a Master Airscrew wood Scimitar 18-8 which I will try next time out. Plane weighs 12.5 Lbs. (H9 Edge 540) so it should be alright, now if only the weather would allow.

I got 9000 on a Zinger Pro 18x8, Dynathust 18x8, and a MA scimitar 18x10:thumbdown, 8500 on a Zinger 18x8, 6600 on a MA wood 20x8 and 7500 on the MA cut down to 19x8. The cut prop seemed to pull the best, the others just seemed to make a lot of noise and the 20" was too slow. Running a Perry pump on 3% nitro and 12% oil at about 200' elev. Bisson pitts with the tips cut off.

On 15% nitro on a 65 degree day the Moki spins my Mezjlik 19x8 at 7750RPM. I could use lower nitro, but this is what I run in everything. It fires fine on it with no detonation or pre-ignition of any kind.

Im running fai 0% fuel and on an 80° day I got 8000 with a Zinger Pro 18x8, just tried a Mejzlik 19x8 and got 7800. This floored me, also The response is crisp and has a great idle. I have 2 glaaons through this engine. I found my prop!!

K27r, did you have a prop on that Moki? I would love to have the Mejzlik 19x8! Run the 18x8 on my OS 160, best prop!

Default Prop on Moki

It was spinning a M. A. 18x10. I believe it is still breaking in, as it has just over 2 gallons ran through it. Does any one know if it will get a lot better? On Moki web page they say it should spin at 8200 r.p.m.!! That is a whole 1000 r.p.m. more than I am getting. The difference of 15 lbs. of thrust and 20 lbs!

My moki is well broken in 15+ gal. 7100 is a bit slow. I get more than 9000 on a MA 18x10 Scimitar. It should get at least 8200 on the wide blade I would think. I am using 5% Moki blend-15% oil I believe. You can probably go with the lower oil fuel and get more power after 2 gallons have run through it.
FYI, I would not buy a Moki 1.8 new now that the OS 160 has come out. I'm getting the same power from my new 160 (5 tanks through it) and it is easier to tune and rock solid reliable with a pump on it. I have more time on it than 5 tanks but it hasn't changed since.

Moki 180 will kill the os 160 fx in power anyday...

Smaller motors run at higher rpms but doesnt mean they produce more power because of there rpms.

Right now I need to adjust my Moki 180

I am running BCM (bisson custom muffler) and FAI 0% Nitro with 18% oil and a Bambula Power Prop 18 x8

Do you have both? I do. Same rpm on the same prop, I think it will be a long fight to that death. Oh, 160 is 38 oz with pitts muffler and perry pump and spinner adaptor.

OS- Pro Zinger 18x8@9000
Mezjlik 18x8@8500
Std Zinger 18x8@8500

Moki-as posted above.

Moki may be able to handle larger props better, but so far the OS is keeping up, and if the OS doesn't overheat on the 20" props, then Moki doesn't even have that advantage.

Default prop sizes

Not to rain on anyones parade, but I had the Moki 1.35 and turned a Mejlick 18x8 at 7700 and APC 16x10 at 9000-9200. The motor did not like the 18 inch prop but it was turning it as hard as some these 1.8's. My motor had about 2 gallons on it before I sold it. I ran Omega 5% for both gallons. Kinda strange that the little motor turned the big prop the same as some of yall's big motors...wierd!

Anyone know of someone running the moki 1.8 in a dp ultimate? I would like to know how this combo would work out, or should I stick to a saito 180
