YS 91 AC Tach Readings
Hello,
I've been trying to piece together the actual performance of the YS 91 AC (second version). I was just wondering if every one with tach readings for various props and fuels wouldn't mind posting their numbers.
For example, one thing I'm trying to pin down is just how much thrust the YS 91 AC can produce for 3D type applications.

P.S. As an example of what I've found... Someone has posted that they can get 9600 RPM with an APC 13x12 prop. I used ThrustHP Calculator to extrapolate that to an APC 16x4 prop by upping the RPMs until the horsepower reading was the same (2.16 HP). It said it would produce 21.67 lbs of static thrust at 10500 RPM. Hmm, seems a bit unrealistic, doesn't it?

Found another data point...
9600 RPM on a 15x6 (type of prop and fuel not specified).
Again, using ThrustHP calculator that extrapolates to 19.99 lbs of static thrust with a 16x4 at 10084 RPM at 1.92 HP.
Any other data out there?

10500 RPM with a 15x6 APC on 30% heli fuel. That is 2.5 HP!

i ran mine yesterday and 9000 on a 15 x 8 apc i am not sure if thats good or bad as i left quite a smoke trail in the air..

YS 91 AC Tach Readings
I have a .91 FZ and it turns a 14X8 APC prop 9100 rpm using
Wildcat 10% fuel. I think I was getting about 9500 rpm using
a 14X8 prop with Wildcat 15% fuel. I have not tried 20% fuel,
but would like to do so soon.
