compare the ST 3000 power to the OS 1.60 FX
HI how does the power of the older SUPER TIGER 3000 stack up against the OS 1.60 fxi think the ST was rated at 3 hp at 7600 RPM -the OS is rated at 3.7 hp at 9000 RPMthey both turn an 18/8 propanyone owning both engines would be of great help - is the OS a very much stronger engine - or just a little more powerful ?? I have a Super Tigre ST3000 and a MVVS 160 (with glow carb. ) I believe MVVS 160 is very close to (or in the same class with ) O.S.160 in performance wise.
Super Tigre can swing an APC 20x8 prop more than 7000 rpm with pitts muffler. (with %10 oil and no nitro). My MVVS can turn an APC 18x6 wide prop around 8500 with %10 nitro with. Ankara is 3000 ft ASL. Super Tigre on the other hand is heavier ( 1.450 Gr. with muffler). MVVS (or OS) is around 1.100 with muffler.
ST 3000 with tune pipe will turn 20x10 at 7000 and will pull more than 7,5 Kg. and idle at 1200 rpm. But it will be around 2 kg.(4,5 lbs).
