Try a few searches in this forum using various forms of OS BGX-1, BGX, etc. I found a few. Here is one.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_25...tm.htm#2547602 I 'inherited' a BGX-1 (and a bunch of other good stuff) a few years ago when a friend quit the hobby. Hope to put it in a plane some day. He had it in an Ultra Sport 1000. Terry in LP |

I did a search before I posted my question. Did not see the thread you linked me to. Thanks! What info I did find was that most were shooting for an rpm just short of 8000. What sparse info I found was int the "Tachometer Readings" catagory. (went through all 28 pages).
Again, Thanks. Balsa |

Yeah.
I guess that was from the Glow Engines page. There were several threads. Try there and use different search key words/phrases. Terry in LP |
RE: O.S. BGX-1 3500 Anyone?
I have done a lot of testing, tuning, and modifying to my BGX over the years. All of my reference props are old and most of my data has been lost. The BGX likes some nitro 10-15% and will pull big props but needs close to 8000rpm to draw fuel well. They would spin an old Zinger 18-8 @ 8200, 18-10 @ 7300, 20-8 @ 7300, 20-10@ 6600. These old props have heavier loading than most newer style props. I got best flight performance with 18-10s that were cut down for more rpm. Modern 18-10 or 20-8 should be ideal.
