Default King Black Foot

Hi I am new to the forum.
My son was no longer into RC cars (Shame!) and he gave me his King Black foot we built togather many years ago, I carged the battery and everyting works. I plan to replace the Mech ESC AND MOTOR with a brushless system then water proof it for off road.

I repainted the truck and can't wait to take it out for a spin.

In the picture, your right side (passenger)tires arebackwards on the rims. Both front and back should rotate the other way, as on the left side (driver). Nice truck!

Nice looking truck. If I were you, I'd get a lexan body for running it. Lexan bodies are lighter weight and they are painted on the inside with a special lexan paint. So if it gets scratched, the paint won't be damaged and lexan bodies dent(which can be popped out) in a collision instead of breaking like a normal plastic.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I was looking for lexan body for my king blackfoot too.
Can you suggest which body can fit on it since the body post is kinda different than other truck.
Thanks.

This one is made as a lexan replacement for the original blackfoot and super blackfoot. Since the king blackfoot is based off the original, it should fit fine.

Thanks The Mad Modder for the answer.
Some more question if it's OK:
1. Can I change the body post of my King Blackfoot to those tall universal one ? so I can use more variety of lexan body ? if yes which body mount should I use ?
2. What is the shocks upgrade for King Blackfoot ?
3. How to take care those front arms which has some play, not like the older model with that little metal brace holding it ?
Thanks again.

1. if you can find some that screw throught the side of the post instead of through the bottom. All of the universal posts I can find have the screws going into the bottom of the post. I know that some cars, such as the front ones for Tamiya's blackfoot xtreme and dual hunter are the side mounting type. Perhaps you can get those to fit?
2.How long are the shocks? If they are about 4" long(which they look like), you could use shocks made for the e-maxx/t-maxx.
3.Do what they do to drivetrain parts in the automotive industry...shim them.
They're probably 3mm pins, so you'd want something like this.

You can find tons of things on eBay. Also there are upgrades out there for these older models. Google has gotten me a lot of options. Some of the upgrades are done using other parts.

Well took the body off. found it really need a new body. thinking about a parma BF body...or something.... just not sure what yet!
found the front shocks had sprngs inside the bodies...that was weird.
turned them back into norm shocks.
added fuel tubing to shorten em a bit.
cut the springs down also.
feels like my old SBF a little bit now!
pics of body comng soon
