1/6 Tamiya Ranger

I'm nearing completion of my 1/6 scale Ford Ranger. It uses a BF Xtreme chassis extended to fit the body, which I took from an Artin RC I bought off ebay.

It started life as a toy RC tuner.

It had a sticker on it that identified it as an "Offroad Tuner", which gave me a good laugh.:D

Yeah, there wasn't much going on, so everyone stopped checking.

Got some replacement tires and wheels so I can put those ones back on my Sledghammer. I bought a set of Imex G-hawgs with Tamiya CR01 pentagram wheels to go with it. I'm thinking that the larger tires will look a bit better on it than the dirt hawgs.

Thanks. I used some thin steel sheet metal that I had laying around my basement with aluminum crossmembers. If I were to do it again, though, I'd use about 2mm aluminum. It would have been faster and easier to cut, and be lighter and more rigid(since it's a bit thicker.). I used a mounted band saw to cut it out.

To fit the body, I stretched the chassis to a 17" wheelbase. The longer wheelbase really affects performance, it's much more stable steering at high speeds. It can't even do donuts very well anymore.
