I have the Evolution TPS, and am having trouble with it. The engine leans itself out and cuts off.[
] I have done everything I know to fix this, but can't get it working properly. I've read the book many times over, and the only thing that I can find is that I'm using Wildcat 15% which isn't covered as being good for this engine. [

Sounds like a air leak somewhere. A few things that come to mind are:
1. Cut in fuel line between needle and carb.
2. Rear of muffler is loose and pressure is being lost.
3. Leak in fuel line external to the engine.
Have you checked for these things yet?

I've checked all these things, but I finally tampered with the low end needle. I bent the retainer and was able to get the engine running perfectly. On Sunday I had a different problem. The carb retainer flew out at 120+ mph. I don't think this was related, but what do you think?

All the Evo motors that I have dealt with in the past have needed the same thing.
1- take off the needle restricters
2- bigger fuel line in between needle and carb
I am like the official Evolution motor dude at our local feild, LOL. These motors are awesome, especially the .46 once this is done and they are broken in. They get better and better with time! Try this out and you will enjoy your Evo's for a long time.

I love the .46 TPS ...have it on my Funtana and it hovers nicely. The guys in my club laugh cuz I still use a chicken stick...why?...the motor starts on one flip!! Did have a similar problem though ...and it turned out to be a very small crack in the fuel tank seam.
I agree with the earlier poster...chances are its an air leak of some kind.

No recall. Actually they have been Excellent performers. The only somewhat consistent issue I've seen is the rear of the muffler comming loose after a few runs, which will make it go lean. Just retighten it and then it stays put.
You can get any EVO parts from either any LHS that buys from us (most) or directly from us if there isnt a LHS in the area.

I am having the very same problem with mine. I have become "The Dead Stick King " at my flying field. I have tried lock-tite and the rascal did it again. I am putting it on E-bay this week. I hope to get something more reliable like a OS LA .46
Maybe not the most powerful but reliability means something to me.

Having a problem with my Evolution 100! at about half wide open it will miss and then die. Have tried several plugs, and have reset the needles. Have spen the better part of two days on this engine. burnt about one and half gallons through it at this time useing 15% now but was using 10%. Didn't make any differance. Ordered new plugs from Horizon today. it is the nt/nx model.

I and everyone else I know had that problem. The engine needs to be richened on the low end. Pull the low end about 3/16's of an inch back and it should run fine 'till you need to do this again.
