Default Hanger 9 Twist 60 ARF - CG?

I'm trying to balance my new H9 60, the manual shows 5 7/8 to 6 1/2 inches. The plane is way nose heavy, even with the battery under the cockpit it takes 3 oz in the tail to ballance. I have owned a H9 60 for over a year now and it flew great, I placed the battery and receiver as show in the manual and it flew great no weight added any where. I took every thing out of the old one and placed it exactly as the old one, I even used the old motor mounts so that even the same. I don't have the manual that came with the old one, so don't know what it had for the CG, but I know I used what was there. Is the new one wrong, please let me know, I can't wait to get it in the air, I loved the way the old one flew. In my pea brain I figure the cg should be 4 1/2 to 5 inches, but don't trust my figurin. Thanks Roger.

Not sure I'm following. Is the H9 60 you are talking about the Twist 60? And you had one for over a year and now a new one? If so the model hasnt been changed at all. Balance the new one same as your old one.

If you want to save yourself a lot of grief,a nd money, balance it at 5" to 5.25". the balance figures that are in the instructions will make it ballon like crazy landing.

Sorry Mike it is the Twist 60. The assembly manual shows the CG to be 5 7/8 - 6 1/2 inches. The cord is 13.5 inches, Im going to try 28% of that and see how it does. Thanks again.

Actually the root cord is 18.8" You didnt include the ailerons in your measurement, which is not correct. Ailerons are part of the oa wing planform. The ailerons are tapered, so the MAC of the Twist 60 is 18.1" 28% of that is 5.1".
The leading edge is straight, so 5.1" back from the LE will give you 28% CG.

Thanks Mike, I will start with the 5.1 and go from there. Roger.
