The good news:
I have a new Phoenix-35â„¢ ESC (and a couple of hot motors) for my T-Rex 450SE. I even have the new C-Link connector from Castle to program it!
The bad news:[
] Even when following the recommended directions from Castle, the helicopter (T-Rex 450SE in this case) won't fly!!!
Here is what I know (the problem):
The motor cuts out - ever during slow hovers and just acts weird in general! If you could see it jittering and sputtering you would know what I mean! By the way, the motors I have tried with this ESC are the Medussa and the AON Vertical series - 3400 and 3500 KV respectfully. I accessed the menu and created the following settings and then updated the ESC through the USB port.
Here is what fixes the problem:[:'(] Put the stock Align motor (3550kv) and ESC (35) back and it works perfectly (albiet with not as much punch as the other motors)... But at least it flies!!! Does this ESC require a BEC? What recommendations do you have for setting up this electronic device and where can one get more information on setting these devices up for different motors / performance setups?
Here's to hoping that someone with knowledge and wisdom will help a few of us through this learning curve... Thanks![8D]
