Default Needle setting on TT39

Hi.. I have some problem, my TT39 always overheat after hovering. Right now my idle valve is 3 turn, and top needle is 2 turn. I used SIG 15% fuel. What is the right setting for TT39? [:@]
Thanks..

High Speed - 3 turns from closed.

Mid - 3 turns out from fully closed throttle barrel.

Change to CoolPower fuel (the Green fuel - ie , 15% nitro content).

By the way , how do you know that your engine is overheating ?

Just make sure smoke from exhaust is quite visible. It can't be too lean then.

I have noticed when I have mine smoking like Cheech's van, after flying around for a few minutes The smoke starts to go away, then It starts to overheat, I use a IR therometer, when it's smokey it's 180-220, when It's overheating, it's about 290-340. what could be causing this problem?

There are only 2 things that affects an engine performance/tempature.
Fuel and air. The end result are a good running cool engine or a lean hot engine.
I our case we use 2 needles to adjust its performance/tempature.
Note an engine cant run lean/hot if temp is kept down right. But how do you keep the temp down, using the mixture needles, therefore decreasing the chance of an engine going bad. If you see that temp rising stop flyin and richen ya needles.
Yeah everyone knows this right but very few apply it and properly apply it.

Well first my low needle is set at 4 turns out. (barrel should be closed when performing intial adjustment.
I cant remember how many turns on the main.
Wilst i am in a hover my temp reading using venom temp( placed just beneath the head ad around the block ) ranges160 -180 F.
Mostly is statys at 162 F steady all the time.

these are my specs

raptor 30v2
10%nitro with 20%oil
aceupgrade muffler
airborne-models 550 glass blades
pitch 5 degrees at hover 9 at the top

My TT 39 is kinda stubborn as well. I'm running cool power 15% with an OS #8 plug. I have installed the TT header tank and that seems to have helped. It is a bit rich at the first start of the day, but once it gets warm it runs nice (and rich).
