Default bad glow plugs

I have a TT.39 engine in my raptor,
I use OS #8 glow plugs
In my glow driver I normally use a 1700mah cell

my engine is not running lean. maybe alittle fat but defintly not lean.
the life span of my glow plugs are about 1/2 tank - 2 tanks of fuel.
Y am I going threw plugs?????????
my last gallon of fuel cost me 12$ and about 60$ in plugs

Is the element hammerd in or recked on the plug when you pull it out? if it is you need to replace your rear bearing.

That don't mean nothing, you can have lots of smoke and still be lean. Like the other guys told you, your running lean. The most common resin for a glow plug failure is from running lean.

try www.raptortechnique.com under trouble shooting.I'm sure you will find this very useful, now and in the future as well.I occasionally refer to this web site when need info. it well tell you how to read your glow plugs. it will tell you how to test your fuel mixture. what needle to adjust. and so on. I even run a temp gage on my rappy v1 30 to tell me how my eng. is running. I hope this info helps. need more questions I'll try to help. by the way do this .at idle pinch the fuel line about 1 in. away from thr carb. after is is warmed up. it should run for about 3 or 4 seconds. just before eng shutoff idle should increase for about a second. if it dies before that then idle is too lean, longer idle means it is too rich. now when that is set fly around for about a minute .if eng. dies when you spool up to fly then your top end needle is too lean. that could bee the reason you are burning the plugs. you did not mention if you are into fwrd flight or not but, if you are try this . with heli at hover pull heli straight up about 15 ft or so.now bring it down and land as soon as you can and. how long did it take the engine to drop to its idle. should take about 3 or 4 seconds. if it takes longer then high end needle is too lean if it drops quick its too rich.if it takes about 1 second this it is fine. will not hurt your engine if it is too rich but lean will cause your plugs to burn out fast and not enough
oil for moving parts in your engine. "wwwraptortechnique.com" . hope this helps some.

just read the thread on "TT 39 pro" . did you perform the needle mod yourself and and has it been doing this from the get-go or after the mod? just wondering if this can be part of the cause.
