First post on this site.
Just painted. Since then I have had one flight, which also happened to be my first flight without a training undercarriage

Yes it's the R30 V2. Glad you like it
Not patient? It didn't take long at all. Problem is, I didn't prepare the olastic first, so it's not going to last more than about 10 flights before it doesn't look good. I also only used cheap paint.
I'd be interested to see more pics of painted ones though.

RE: Raptor Helis pIctUrEs
what type of paint did you use? oil?
should put some finish on it
just buy some humbrol clear gloss
oh sorry humbrol super enamel 135 satin
thats a mouthful but the super enamels really tough
normal enamels good enough
that should protect it
just to let you know i dont memorise paints.....
i had a tin next to me....
lol

Top Flight has some awesome epoxy based paint that works great. I painted my Super Chipmunks cowl with it 5 years ago and its as good as it ever was, no chipping, cracking or bleeding.

I have a folder on my mom's comptuer that when I see a picture that I like online (Helis or Planes) then I save it in there. I have about 300mb of pictures. Glad someone started something like this. I'm going to keep up with this so I can have more pictures in that folder.
Thanks,
~Michael~
BTW, I have a R30, but I'll have to scan the pictures, and post my picture on here sometime later.

Here's mine how it sits... but hopefully not for long.
Its a Raptor 50 V1
OS .50SX-H
Futaba 8uap
CSM360 Gyro w/ Futaba 9253 servo.
With the approx. 10 minutes of flight time before it decided to kill itself. I am VERY impressed with the power gains. Plus the heli feels much more solid than the 30 did.

Here are a few Raptor Photos. The yellow and blue one doing the inverted hover is my 30v2 powered by an Irvine 39, and the blue/silver/black one is my dad's 50v2 with OS 50 motor. Hope you like the photos.

A few of my old Rappys. The yellow one is obviously an S300 conversion, which I got from Century and it's actually designed for their Hawk heli, but fits on the Raptor with little modification. The blue one is setup for night flying and has the MS carbon night blades, the night rope lighting, and a strobe light on the nose and tail.

I have 4 Raptors. 2 50v2's, a 60v2 (STARS and BARS) and a 30V2 which is still in the box ARF.. I am having a great time learning to fly... The one I'm flying now is a 50V2 with standard decals.... OS50 and set up very nicely. The painted one has lots of BLING BLING on it... I can hardly wait to take it for a serious walk...[8D]

Here is mine. Any one that can share what brand paint they used on their stock Raptor canopy I would appreciate it. Thanks, as I painted mine with Plastic paint, it did not last. I cleaned and scrubbed it, but did not sand it. Dunno what the right combo is...

Fastlif you can paint the plastic canopys with a little prep, star with sanding the canopy with some 220 or 320, work it over good, prim it and paint it , one solid color works the best because if you try more than 1 color the paint can peel on the paint lines.
