OS 70 to 90 Raptor Conversion
Having blown my OS70 to bits, I checked the OS website - saw that the 90 was only slightly more expensive than the 70 and also seemed to be size compatible. I thought it was time to move up a cog, so bought an OS90 c-spec, plus all the bits in the Raptor 60 to 90 Conversion kit.
I was therefore very surprised to find that the OS90 is a lot bigger than the 70, and will not fit. One way round it seems to be to cut the cooling fins off - but I'm loathe to do that for obvious reasons. Has anyone else had the same issue? How did you get around it?

RE: OS 70 to 90 Raptor Conversion
I have the 90 SE heli i just built. There was a removable piece that bolted into the fan area for smaller head engines. See if there is a piece in there you can unbolt to make more room for the head. If not maybe you can buy just that section of frame that is plastic to replace it so the 90 C-spec fits. You definately don't want to cut the fins off. You could always call heliproz and tell them, I bet they would know a solution.

If you have an older .60 you'll have to trim the cooling fins or the fan shroud...they do not have the option of the removable fan shroud spacer like the newer .90s do.

RE: OS 70 to 90 Raptor Conversion
Colin and Dave,
Thanks for the steer. That indeed is the problem - older(mine is 18 months old) Raptor 60's need the modified fan cowl if you wish to fit a large head motor - which in turn means a new servo tray.
Thanks again!

RE: OS 70 to 90 Raptor Conversion
chris elliott, check out the attach pics.
OS 91 do fit with minor mods. I had to modify the fan duct, the bottom of the servo/battery tray and with the 90 conversion you get a carbon baseplate which need slight modification to fit the remote glow.
Let me know if you need more advice, will help where I can.
Cheers,
Mart
